Religious Education at St. Georges School
Mission statement: ‘At St. George’s Catholic School we help all our children to grow in mind, body and spirit.’
At St George’s we value parents’ and children’s thoughts and contributions.

We did a survey asking Class 6 children how they feel pupils in St George’s grow spiritually during their time with us.
Here are some of the children’s quotes:
- “We go to church to follow God and Jesus.” Tom
- “We often learn about the different things that happened to Jesus in the past, especially Easter and Christmas.” Lauren
- “We have masses which Class 6 lead.” Keziah
- “We say our prayers every morning and at the end of the day.” George
- “We study other religions.” Sam F.
- “We respect everyone at St George’s as though we are one big family.” Fin
- “We make friends with our classmates and share with them.” Magdalena
- “In our school we are very kind to each other. We all think about others not just ourselves and we know what is right and what is wrong.” Chloe
- “We have 3 golden rules which we have to abide by.” Joseph
- “When Christmas comes around the children in the infants do a nativity play and the juniors do a carol service with a tableaux.” James
- “At this school everybody comes and leaves school with a smile on their face because it is such a jolly place!” Georgie
Parent’s comments on assemblies and masses:
- “I think all of the acts of worship have been wonderful – the children participate beautifully and the content is excellent – they give a true sense of the ethos of this school.”
- “As a parent these are special and very enjoyable events and all very appropriate – well done!”
- “These are very valuable for reinforcing the Catholic ethos of the school to the parents. It is also great to see our children enjoying learning through these events.”
- “Class assemblies have been wonderful this year. The teacher and class have worked very hard and the ‘morals and meanings’ have been put across in a lovely thoughtful way.”
- “The school always provides excellent acts of worship with unique and diverse ideas. I look forward to them.”
