Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope everyone is keeping safe and well. Thank you for your support and understanding this academic year and always. Your positive comments and support have been very much appreciated. We are still very much having to follow strict processes and I am sure this will be the case for the foreseeable future.

There are times that I need to speak with parents and carers about following our strict processes. As a school we are doing everything we possibly can to ensure that everyone remains well and safe. I am extremely grateful that my team of staff are supporting in every way they possibly can.

Please can I remind parents and carers of KS2 children that they must not be left unattended at the side gate by our main office. The gate opens every morning at 8:50am. Year Six children are the only children that we allow to wait from 8:45.

School  Meals

The latest set of menus has been uploaded to the iPay Impact website. Please remember the weekly deadline for ordering meals for the following week is WEDNESDAY.

Odd Socks Day

We would like all the children to wear odd socks to school on Monday 16th November to raise awareness and support anti-bullying. We are not asking for donations of money, we just want to support such a cause by raising awareness.

Book Review

The latest ‘Dragon Tales’ review newsletter is now available on the Library Club Google classroom. Please read to get ideas for Christmas and any comments posted will be entered into a prize draw.

St George’s Video

I always enjoy showing prospective parents and visitors around our school. Sadly, we are currently unable to do this. We have had a short film of the school made for prospective parents to view. I would encourage all of our community to watch the video. I am absolutely delighted with it and fills me with much pride to be part of such a wonderful school and community. You can find our new short film on the homepage of our school website.

Christmas at St George’s 2021

As we know, Christmas in a school is going to be different this year but we want to continue to give the children lots of enjoyable times that they will always remember.

Fundraising Team

The Fundraising Team have been excellent in organising the raffle. Friday 13th will be a non-uniform day and in exchange children can bring in a gift for the raffle. These will be left in isolation for two weeks and then made into hampers. We will be sending out raffle tickets in the next few days.

Christmas Cards

We know how much the children enjoy sending Christmas cards. We would like all cards brought into school by Thursday 10th December so that they can be put in a class box and left for the required isolation time before they are handed out the following week. Please do ensure that cards are brought in by Thursday 10th December.

KS1 Nativity

The KS1 Nativity will be filmed this year and the children will be filmed in their bubbles. The Nativity will be uploaded onto Google Classroom on Tuesday 15th December and the children throughout the school will watch it within their class bubbles on this day. Parents and carers will be able to watch it with their children on Google Classroom.

KS2 Carol Service

The KS2 Carol Service will also be filmed this year. This will also be filmed in class bubbles. The Carol Service will be uploaded onto Google Classroom on Wednesday 16th December and the children throughout the school will watch it within their bubbles at 9:30am on this day.

Both the KS1 Nativity and KS2 Carol Service will require a lot of thought and editing and I am very appreciative to the team at St George’s in making this possible.

End of Term Mass

We will still be having an end of term Mass on Friday 18th December at 9:30am. Monsignor Bernard will lead the service from St George’s Church and it will be live streamed on the church website.

Visiting Theatre

Sadly we are unable to have the visiting theatre this year due to Covid 19. They will be uploading their production on to a website for us to access and we will be watching it in our bubbles during the afternoon of Monday 14th December.

Class Parties

We will be having class parties at some point in the final week of term. We would like parents and carers to provide their own child/ren with some party treats for themselves.

Christmas Dinner and Jumper Day

We will be having our Christmas Dinner and Jumper Day on Thursday 17th December. The lunch will be in their bubbles and will aim to keep to the times that we currently have

End of Term

Just a reminder that we break up for Christmas on Friday 18th December and our spring term starts on Wednesday 6th January 2021.
