Newsletter 22 September 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is incredible to think that the children have already been back nearly three weeks! They are so happy to be back at school!

Coats

The weather is due to change in the next few days and I would appreciate it if all children can come to school with coats. We aim to get them outside as much as possible and coats are a necessity at this time of year.

Mr Davies will be putting up two gazebos on the grass section of the swimming pool playground for the children to take shelter under during the school collection at the end of the day.

Drop Off and Pick Up

Thank you for your continued support and understanding with our arrangements for the start and end of the school day. Every school across the country has had to do something similar.

Please remember that the 8:50 drop off in the morning is for KS2 children (Year 3, 4, 5 and 6) and their KS1 siblings. The KS1 children cannot be coming on the playground until approximately 9am.

At the end of the school day, KS2 only parents and carers must not arrive too early as this can cause issues with some of our KS1 families having to drive around the waiting cars and this can cause congestion and upset the residents of Nunsfield Court. KS2 cars do not need to be arriving until 3:10pm at the earliest.

Reception Parents can collect their children by the Reception Class small gate but we ask the all other parents coming by car to remain by their cars and we will bring the children to you.

Keep driving slowly and be aware of the busy car park that we have.

Wear Red Day – Show Racism the Red Card

My assembly next week focusses on how actions speak louder than words. I will be telling the children the inspirational story of Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955. We will be inviting our children to wear red to school on Friday 16th October in support of showing racism the red card.

 Reminder -  Flu Immunisation

The nurses are visiting St George’s on Tuesday 3rd November to give the flu immunisation nasal spray for the whole school. It is vital that parents and carers complete the consent form on https://saint.sompar.nhs.uk/flu/2020/west.  The link will close at least one week prior to the session date and so it is recommended that you complete the consent form as soon as possible.

Reminder – Ordering Lunches

Please remember to order school lunches by Wednesday to ensure your child has a lunch for the following week. The link to ordering meals can be found on our school website.

Data Collection

Please can all parents and carers return the data collection sheets to school as soon as possible. It is important that we have up to date contact numbers and information on our records at school.
