Useful websites

Espresso is an excellent website and the school has paid for your child to have free access. Log in with your child's username and password to access a wealth of curriculum resources across all subjects. The website is updated daily and new resources are added regularly.

Spring Term
Aargh! Captain Crocker's Pirates!
Class 2 has been overtaken by pirates!

We were visited by giant snails, a corn snake,
a tawny owl and a meerkat!
World Book Day

We sorted ourselves into arrays on the playground.

Our Trip to Somerset Museum
We had fun dressing up as knights and princesses
and learning lots of facts about castles.
We have started planning our castle leaflets.
Growing Runner Beans
We have planted our beans.
We are now observing and writing about changes
that happen to them in our weekly bean diaries.
The Tiger who came to Tea
We had a surprise stripy visitor to our classroom this week.
 Class 2 love reading!
Please feel free to visit the library after school on Thursdays and Fridays. It is open for all to use. Look for excellent book recommendations to encourage your child to love reading.
In guided reading we enjoyed the story of The Owl Babies.
We independently followed instructions to make paper plate birds.
Cottontail the Bedtime Bunny and his reading book is taken home by different children every day.
Well done Class 2. What a wonderful performance!
The Prophet Amos
Today in our RE lesson we acted out the story of
'The Prophet Amos'
We have been thinking about
how the Gospel means
'Good News'. 
How do we share good news?
What good news do
we like to hear?
Remembrance Day
We visited Vivary Park to look at the War Memorial.
We said prayers, sketched and observed the names of the soldiers written on it.
We scattered poppy seeds around the school.  We are looking forward to seeing them grow next year.
We have been reading a story by Roald Dahl called 'The Minpins'.
We have spent a lot of time in the nature area looking at where different animals live.
We made our own Minpin houses.
We talked about what insects need to survive and made bug houses for them.
We are controlling the ProBots to move around and create shapes on the floor.
We have been using the words; 
Clockwise, anti-clockwise, quarter turn, half turn, whole turn.
