Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to start by thanking you all for your kindness and support during these worrying times. We have been inundated with messages and they have all been very much appreciated.
Thank you for your response to my Key Worker letter yesterday. We do have a high number of children still attending school from Monday due to parents having important roles in the NHS and other key areas. It does leave us stretched but still operational. As I said in my letter if you are a Key Worker and are able to arrange other child care that would be very much appreciated but we understand this cannot be the case for all. Please can you let staff know on Monday what days you will need child care at the school and if you are part time worker, please do not send the children in on the days that you are home.
Please can all children report to the Main Office where they will be registered. The School will be open from 8:00AM until 4:00 PM to allow a bit of flexibility for those that need it, with registration starting at 9:05 AM so please can I ask all parents to ensure their child is in school for that time. Just a reminder that we will expect them to be in their school uniform and for you to provide them with their usual PE kit as well as a change of spare clothes for outdoor activities. Please ensure you provide your child with a packed lunch and water bottle as well as a waterproof coat. The school day will finish at 3:30 where the children will be collected from the playground. The latest pick up is 4pm- but again if you are able to pick up at 3:30, please do.
For the children not attending school, staff will be trying their best to upload work on Google Classroom. Please be patient and understanding throughout this time as the staff will also be caring for the children of key workers. We are extremely fortunate to have access to many resources such as Bug Club, Mathletics, Times Tables Rock Stars and much more. The children can be reading a wide range of stories and completing book reviews. Lots of art work, craft and games. We recently had a display in the hall of games that children and families can play together such as Yahtzee, card games, Monopoly, chess, draughts, bingo, Shut the Box and much more. At the moment, going out for walks while being mindful of social distancing is encouraged.
Under no circumstances can parents of children not attending school come to the school premises with questions. If there are any urgent queries please email the school office
