23rd October 2019

Dear Parents and Carers,

Where has the past eight weeks gone! What a busy few weeks it has been. Our wonderful new Reception Class have settled in brilliantly. The children throughout the school continue to impress me with their enthusiasm, behaviour and attitude to their learning. A huge well done to the children and a big thank you to you all for your support. Wishing you all a happy half-term holiday!

Harvest Festival

Thank you for all your kind donations for the Harvest Festival and to all the parents and carers that were able to attend. It was a beautiful Festival and was very much enjoyed by all. We raised over £100 for charity.

Ordering and Paying for School Meals Online

We have been in conversation with our school meal provider to set up online ordering and payment for meals. The aim is to have this set up ready for January 2020. Feedback has told us that this method is much easier to manage but it is the responsibility of parents and carers to complete orders by the requested deadline. Watch this space for an update on this after half-term.

Cold Weather

The cold weather will gradually be here over the next few weeks. Can I ask that all children come to school wearing a suitable coat to ensure they are warm during break times.

Children in Need

Children in Need is on Friday 15th November. We would like the children to come to school in non-uniform and bring money to spend on the fun stalls which will be organised by Class Four during break time.

Mufti Day

We are having non-uniform day on Friday 22nd November. We would like the children to bring in donations of bottles or chocolates for stalls at the Christmas Fayre.

Christmas Fayre

It is our school Christmas Fayre on Friday 29th November. The fayre will start at 2:30. Thank you to Mrs Brown and Mrs Ware for being so instrumental in organising this event.  Please let Mrs Gordge know if you are able to support with the Fayre. We ask parents and carers to support with the running of stalls and the class that raises the most money will have a VIP afternoon before the end of term. A sign-up is in the reception area by the school office.

Christmas Nativity

KS1 will be performing their Nativity on the following dates:

Tuesday 10th December – Dress Rehearsal

Wednesday 11th December – 6pm

Thursday 12th December – 6pm.

School Christmas Dinner Day - CHANGE OF DATE!

The School Christmas Dinner has been moved to Thursday 19th December. Please make sure order forms are completed in time as this is a very popular dinner. In addition, we would like the children to wear a Christmas Jumper on this day. We will be asking for donations of £1 and money raised will be donated to CAFOD.

Carol Service at St George’s Church

The KS2 Carol Service will be at the church this year on Wednesday 18th December at 9:15am. Although it is a KS2 Carol Service, KS1 will be attending to enjoy the beautiful singing. Everyone is welcome to attend.

End of Term Mass

The end of term Mass will be at School on Friday 20th December at 9:30am. All parents, carers and members of the parish are welcome to attend.

Dates

The term ends on Friday 20th December and the Spring Term starts on Tuesday 7th January 2018.

Parking at Key Events

When parking on the school premises for the Christmas Fayre, Nativity, Mass etc can I please ask parents and carers to be kind in leaving a name and contact number on the dashboard of your car if you are blocking somebody in. This should make things a little easier when trying to identify who’s car belongs to who.

Safeguarding

We are happy for photos or videos to be taken at our school events. We do ask that photos or videos are not put on any social media websites or sent by email to others.

What a busy few weeks we have ahead!

Best wishes,

Mark Braund
