27th September 2019

Dear Parents and Carers,

The first month back at school has raced! It is wonderful to see such happy and enthusiastic children coming into school and leaving at the end of the day.

Harvest Mass

Just a reminder that the Harvest Mass at St George’s Church will be on Sunday 6th October at 9:30am. Please could the children bring a tinned food donation to the service.

Harvest Festival

Just a reminder  that our Harvest Festival celebration is at the school at 2:15pm on Wednesday 9th October. Please can the children bring a food donation for the event. The food will be sold to parents and carers at the end of the school day and money raised will be given to a charity.

Individual and Family Photographs

The School Photographer is visiting on Friday 18th October. She is in position from 8am for family photos with younger siblings that are not at school. Individual and sibling photos will be taken during the school day.

Flu Immunisation

The nurses are visiting St George’s on Friday 18th October to give the flu immunisation nasal spray for the whole school. It is vital that parents and carers return the permission slips so that the immunisation can be given.

Website

I just wanted to highlight to parents that we have a ‘Google Translate’ facility on our website to support parents and carers. I have added new sections on the parent section of our website. Please do check the website regularly as we are updating often. Every newsletter will now be on the ‘News’ section of our website and can all be translated on the click of a button.

Parking

I received an email from a resident at Nunsfield Court explaining that there have been times where parents have parked in the spaces in Nunsfield Court. She also asked if the turning into the school car park (KS1 playground) at the end of the school day is left clear. Please do not turn into the car park until there is clear entry to stop any blockages. Mr Davies and I regularly check the time period it takes to clear the school car park at the end of a day and most days it is clear by 3:40 – 3:45, which is really good going! There will always be some blips, the town traffic can be interesting at times, but the parking around the school has improved greatly thanks to your co-operation and also the fact that you have Mr Davies and I keeping our beady eyes on you!!!!

Safeguarding

Can I ask that all parents and carers do not come on to the school playground until 3:25pm for pick up.  This is due to safeguarding and ensuring all children are safe on the premises. Mr Davies doesn’t unlock the gates until 3:25pm. We are aware that some parents have used the side gate slightly earlier and ask that this doesn’t happen. The side gate is available for Pre-School parents who collect their children at 3:15pm. The back gate will automatically open at 3:25 to allow Pre-School parents on to our premises for pick-up.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Best wishes,

Mark Braund
