Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you all had a wonderful half-term break. There has been a lot of publicity in recent weeks for the need to be kind to each other. It is something that we speak about in school regularly and I often say ‘Always be kinder than is necessary’ in assemblies and ‘If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all’ and ‘Good manners cost nothing.’  I am always impressed with the kindness of the children at St George’s. They really are delightful children and are an absolute credit to you all and themselves. Yes, children can have their off days and upsets and so can adults, but to see their behaviour for learning and their attitude in school really does please me. I would like to thank you and the staff at the school for your role in supporting with the development of the children. I also very much appreciate the kindness you show as parents and your support. I completely agree with the push for more kindness in this world and feel very lucky and privileged to be working in an environment where I see this every day. Thank you!

Ash Wednesday Services

I cannot tell you how proud I was of the children at the KS2 and KS1 Ash Wednesday Services. I received many positive comments from Parishioners and just wanted to congratulate the children on their behaviour and respect.

Just a reminder that Mrs Gavins is busy preparing an event to support parents and carers with maths strategies at home. Mrs Gavins will send further information out nearer the time but please save the date. It will be on Friday 27th March from 9am-10am in the School Hall.

Disco and Movie nights

The KS2 Disco and KS1 Movie night will be held on Friday 13th March. Tickets will go on sale from next week. Please can I ask all parents and carers to ensure that your child is promptly picked up at 5:15PM.

Hot Meals

Thank you for being so good with ordering the school meals online! There have been a few blips as we predicted but on the whole it has worked well.

Change of Mass Date

Please note that the Annunciation Mass in Church is on Wednesday 25th March at 9:30AM and NOT on the 18th as originally advised.

Best Wishes
