Friday 4th December 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are very close to the end of term and the children continue to impress us with their efforts and enthusiasm. We can see that they are tired and ready for the Christmas holidays.
There have been more positive cases in schools throughout Taunton and this reinforces the need to continue to be extremely vigilant and careful. As I said last week, the thought of any class or family having to isolate over Christmas concerns me greatly. We must all continue do everything we can so that we all stay safe.
Chaplain’s Commissioning Service
A huge thank you to Mrs McDonnell and Monsignor Bernard for preparing such a wonderful Chaplain’s Commission Service on Thursday. We have 21 Chaplains at the school and they are an absolute credit to the school and themselves.
Please can I remind all parents and carers that the last day to order your child/children’s Christmas lunch is WEDNESDAY 9th DECEMBER . If any parents who have children in Key Stage 2 are experiencing any problems ordering their child/children’s meal on-line then please do not hesitate to report to the school office and we will be happy to order it for you.
Just a reminder that we would like all cards brought into school by THURSDAY 10th DECEMBER so that they can be put in a class box and left for the required isolation time before they are handed out the following week.
If anyone has any unsold raffle tickets, please can these be returned to school by THURSDAY 10th DECEMBER.
Christmas Jumper Week
Christmas jumper day was originally going to be for one day only but we feel we would like our wonderful children to have a week of wearing their Christmas jumper if they so wish. The children will be invited to wear Christmas jumpers for the last week of term.
A huge thank you to Mr Davies for donating a Christmas tree from his garden to the school. It is a huge tree and almost touches the ceiling of the school hall! It is a beautiful tree and the reaction from the children was a joy to see.
From January, we have asked our school meal provider to only provide a sweet pudding/cake on a Friday. Monday to Thursday will be an option of fruit or yoghurt.
Can I encourage parents and carers to sit with their child/children to select the meal they would like. There are times that some children claim to not like the meal they have been given and we want to ensure that they eat a reasonable amount of their meal.
Just a reminder that the spring term will start on Wednesday 6th January. The start and finish times will be exactly the same as the autumn term.
