Friday 5th June 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
Can I firstly thank you for your support and understanding these past weeks and with the phased return to school for Reception, Year One and Year Six children. I know that you will understand that the plans we have in place have been carefully thought through and that we need your support with this when asking for information such as completing the surveys. Unfortunately we cannot be flexible with our plans and we need as much notice from parents as possible to organise our groups/bubbles.
It is clear that many have read the regular updates on the school website and I would encourage you to keep checking the website daily as this is the most effective way to communicate updates and plans.
Please can I ask that the children just bring in a water bottle, their lunch, a sun hat and sun lotion. Books are not to be brought in.
I have been asked if I know when the other year groups will be returning. There has been no further information and guidance about this matter. It will be communicated with parents and carers when we have the information.
School Structure 2020/21
As part of the continued development of staff at the school, they are asked and encouraged to have the opportunity to teach a different year group. I was lucky enough to experience teaching throughout Key Stage Two and Year Two computing during my time in the classroom and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Our structure for the academic year 2020/21 has been agreed and discussed with staff and governors and everyone is very positive.
The structure will be:
Reception Class – Mrs Weetch
Class One – Mrs Godfrey and Mrs Martin
Class Two – Mrs Crocker
Class Three – Mr Lake
Class Four – Mrs Earp
Class Five – Mrs McDonnell and Mrs Rolf
Class Six – Mrs Gavins
I feel very lucky to have such a dedicated and committed team that do everything possible to support the children.
Year Six Hoodies
Mrs Gordge and Mrs Mac Connell have kindly sent an email to all Class Six parents and carers regarding the hoodies. We really would appreciate it if all families could reply as soon as possible with the size hoodie they wish to order so that this can be processed.
The events of the past weeks will without a doubt have an impact on school finances. We have been fortunate over the years to have a revenue from hiring out our pool to swim schools, our school to Polish School and Governor Services etc. This income has been lost as well as the successful fetes that our organised by our brilliant fundraising team. I would really appreciate if any parents/carers have any ideas or suggestions on grants we can apply for or fundraising ideas that would help support the school with our budget and building improvement projects.
Mr Oaten and Mrs Tighe
I would like to thank Mr Oaten for surprising us by repotting the many plants at the entrance to the school. He has kindly been watering them early every morning before anyone arrives. Mrs Tighe has started working on our pots on the car park playground and they are looking brilliant!
A huge thank you to Mrs Rolf for the idea of asking for gazebos! I have been really touched by the kind donations from parents and past parents! We currently have 7 gazebos set up on the field and Mrs Gordge has ordered another 5 from the donations we have received! Thank you for your kindness.
