THURSDAY 11TH FEBRUARY 2021
Dear Parents and Carers,
I want to start this newsletter by thanking all our families and the critical workers for all they have been doing during these unprecedented times. We all hope and pray that we will return to normality as soon as possible in the near future. Thank you all for working with us as part of the St George’s Community.
Are You Aware of the Expectations for Remote Learning?
We recognise the challenges of recent weeks and appreciate the support and communication from families. This lockdown has been completely different to the first one with more children of critical workers in school and a full curriculum day of work planned and uploaded onto Google Classroom. The expectation is clear that children continue to complete a full day of learning on Google Classroom and upload work daily to their class teacher so that this can be monitored.
Can I please ask you to sit with your child for a few minutes a day to check the work that has been set by the class teacher and that your child has completed it. We want to support and encourage children in achieving their potential and the daily effort and work made by your child now will help to ensure they stay ‘on track’ and avoid falling behind. Tasks set by teachers are planned to allow your child to work as independently as possible, but we appreciate your support in checking the work completed. We know that children enjoy sharing their work and it encourages them to take pride in it.
If your child is unwell on any particular day and unable to attend the online Google classroom could you please report this to the school either with a phone call or sending an e-mail.
You can download the Google Classroom App on your phone or tablet and upload photos of work to the classroom this way.
Are You Aware of these Important Dates?
Google Classroom will be closed for half term from Friday 12th February at 4pm until Tuesday 23rd February at 8:50am.
We have an INSET day at St George’s on Monday 22nd February. The school will be closed for all pupils on this day.
Wishing you all a happy and healthy half-term break.
