Dear Parents and Carers,
The Summer Term is certainly racing by! We are hoping for a return to as much normality as possible from June 21st. We are awaiting more news and guidance and will update you as soon as we have any additional information.
Did you receive the email regarding the Dunstan Catholic Educational Trust?
I sent out an email regarding the formation of a Catholic Multi Academy Trust. The St George’s Governing Body were required to complete a due diligence process and on completion of this it was unanimously agreed to not join the Dunstan Catholic Educational Trust at this time.
Have you ever considered becoming a Governor at St George’s?
We are very fortunate to have an active and supportive Governing Body at St George’s. We currently have a vacancy for a Parent Governor at the school and if this is something that you are interested in, please contact the School Office. Helen Mac Connell, our Chair of Governors, will arrange a meeting with you to discuss the role.
Have you noticed the link for ordering school meals on our website?
Just a reminder that school meals must be ordered on the Wednesday before the following week. We have put a link on the Parents Section of our website.
Have you seen our swimming video on our school website?
Mr Chidgey and Mr White (our new Computing Technician) have created a video to re-introduce the children and families to our amazing swimming pool at St George’s. Thank you for all your support and positive comments about the return to swimming.

Just a reminder that all children are required to wear a dark swimming trunks/costume, a swimming hat and have a towel and swimming bag.
We do ask for a £10 donation per term for swimming and would appreciate a £5 donation for the last 7 weeks of swimming for this academic year. Methods of payment can be found on the school website in the swimming section.
Celebrating the Rosary in Mary’s Month of May
On Friday 28th May, we will be celebrating Our Lady by having a Rosary Procession.
The day will begin with an assembly for each Key Stage, where the children will find out more about Jesus’s mother Mary, her life and her faith. We will then have two processions to St George’s Church, with Key Stage 1 going first and Key Stage 2 following after.
As we process to the Church, KS2 we will say a decade of the Rosary and sing a Marion hymn, led by Monsignor. When we arrive at Church, there will be a short service and then the children will lay flowers at a Marion Altar (an altar dedicated to Mary). KS1 will lay paper flowers that they have coloured at the altar.
We are asking for your help in providing the flowers for our Marion Altar. Please could you send your KS2 child to school on Wednesday 26th May with a flower, or small bunch of flowers, that they can carry on our procession and lay at the altar.
Thank you in advance for your support. We are grateful for our strong link with St George’s Church and are looking forward to celebrating Our Lady in this special way.
