Dear Parents and Carers,

We have a busy three weeks ahead until the end of term! The Christmas tree is up and the hall is looking very festive! Please continue to follow the Covid guidance and book appropriate tests if your child/children are displaying any of the symptoms.

I was asked to go into the hall on Wednesday to demonstrate Dad dancing to Year Two – Hopefully I didn’t let any dads down with my dance moves!! No two days are ever the same in a school J

A big thank you to Anna King for showing me her animations presentation on religious Symbolism. I was so impressed on the thought and effort that went into it! Well done Anna!

Christmas Jumper and Meal Day

Just a reminder that we are having our Christmas Jumper and Christmas Dinner Day on Thursday 16th December.

The Christmas Meal must be ordered by Wednesday 8th December, we are aware that some parents have had some issues with ordering their child’s meal. Please note that the amount to be paid for this Christmas meal is £2.45 and not the suggested amount of £12.25!

We are having an extra Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday 9th December as we will be recording parts of our KS2 Carol Service on this day and we thought it would be lovely if the children were wearing their festive jumpers. KS1 will be invited to wear Christmas jumpers on this day as well.

Start of Spring Term

Our first day back after Christmas is Tuesday 4th January.

Well Being Day

Mr C is busy planning a KS2 and KS1 sports morning. The dates for these mornings are:

KS2 – Monday 6th December

KS1 – Monday 13th December

The children will play a variety of sports with their class throughout the morning and we would like them to come to school in their PE kit on the above mentioned date.

Image Theatre

Usually we invite a travelling theatre company to St George’s at this time of year to perform to the whole school. Due to restrictions we are unable to do this and instead the children will be watching a recording of the production. We are grateful that Image Theatre have found a way to do this still.

End of Term Mass

Just a reminder that our end of term Mass is at 9:30am on Thursday 16th December. Year Six will go to St George’s Church and the rest of the school will join the service online.

A lovely story to share

mrs Barthram went into the bank last week and was served by a lady that attended St George’s many years ago. Mrs Barthram had a lovely conversation and the lady said “I sometimes wish I was back there as we were nurtured so well, they were the best!” This will be fed back to Mr Hanratty who I’m sure will be delighted to hear the lasting impact the school had on a former pupil!

A few reminders

  •          Mufti Day for #UniteTheUniforms, donation of £1 next Friday 3rd December.
  •          Raffle Tickets to be returned by Thursday 9th December.
  •          Any orders for Tea Towels to be returned as soon as possible.
  •          Voluntary Contributions of Amenities and Swimming Fees that have not yet been made would be gratefully received.

Best Wishes
