Dear Parents and Carers,
The release of the John Lewis Christmas advert tells me that we are on the countdown to Christmas and the term will fly! It is certainly getting colder. Please can all children come to school wearing coats. Just a reminder that children can wear jogging bottoms for PE.
Did you solve the anagram?
You may remember the challenge I set you throughout last term, to solve the anagram over the course of several newsletters. As this was the first time of doing it, we decided to award four prizes. The four children who will receive one free after school club are: Sasha, Lucy B, Natalia and Jude. They solved the anagram and the word was Chaplain. Our new anagram starts today in this newsletter.
When is Children in Need?
Children in Need is on Friday 19th November. We are having a mufti day and would like the children to bring a donation into school on this day.
Will there be a Christmas raffle this year?
After the huge success of our raffle last year, the Fundraising Team will be repeating it this year. We will be having mufti day on Friday 26th November and would like the children to bring in a gift for the prize hampers on this day.
We would like these types of items from each year group:
Reception class – Soaps / candles
Class 1 – Toys for girls
Class 2 – Toys for boys
Class 3 – Something sweet
Class 4 – Something savoury
Class 5 – Something for Mums
Class 6 – Something for Dads
Do you need an idea for a Christmas gift?
The Fundraising Team will be selling St George’s Catholic School Tea-Towels this year and will contain a self-portrait of every child at the school. These are in the process of being completed and will be available to order soon.
Christmas Jumper and Christmas Dinner Day
We will be having our Christmas Jumper and Christmas Dinner Day at the school on Thursday 16th December. Please book your Christmas dinner by Wednesday 8th December.
End of Term Mass
We have had to change the date of the end of term Mass as Father Tom and Father David are both leading a Mass at 10am on this day. We have moved the date to Thursday 16th December at 9:30am.
School Photographs
All Children that have been present in school today have had individual photographs taken along with any siblings. If parents or carers would like to order any photographs then you can do this by going on line at www.tempest-orders.co.uk and enter the reference number under the bar-code of your child’s/children’s sample photograph. Please note any photographs that are ordered will be delivered to the school.

Thursday 16th December – Christmas Jumper and Christmas Dinner Day
Friday 17th December – End of Term Mass at St George’s Church – Year 6 only at the church. The rest of the school will watch the live stream in classes.
