At St George's we are committed to delivering a computing curriculum which will thoroughly prepare our pupils for their digital futures. The world is changing rapidly due to technological advancements and there will be jobs available to our pupils when they leave school/college which haven't been imagined yet. We aim to develop skills in computational thinking, coding, data handling, online safety and using creative multi-media techniques. We hope that when children leave St George's they have the confidence to explore and create in the digital environment.
The Digital Leaders from Years 1 and 3 have worked together to create a new e-safety video using Lego stop-frame animation.
Year 5 have been learning about the impact that their digital footprints can have. Here are some videos they have created. They have used an app called Tellagami because it provides an avatar and therefore keeps their identity safe.
In Year 6 we modelled the way that the Internet works, using a great deal of string and kitchen roll tubes. The children then made their own explanatory videos using a screen casting app called Explain Everything.
