Who are the chaplains?
They readily show a desire to help others, to make a difference, to be ready to listen to God’s word and help bring that word and the love of God to others. They enjoy participating in collective worship assemblies, often promoting Gospel Values through drama. They are also a charitable bunch, and they lead many of our charity campaigns in the school. Their work regulalry gets a mention on our CST page.
Miss Droba is our Chaplain Team Lead teacher and meets weekly with the team. They lead Gospel Assemblies and Child Led Prayer sessions; send out invitations to school events; create newsletters for the parish; write the intercessions for Masses in church; make, collect and distribute charitable donations; make gifts and cards for members of the local elderly community and actively encourage chapliancy among other pupils.
In response to our inspection report , we have extended our team to include pupils across the whole of Key Stage 2.
Last year, Neil Peixico welcomed our Year 3 and 4 Chaplains to the team through an informal service in school and he walked them through the Door of Hope with their Year 5 and 6 Chaplain Buddies.
