Dear Parents and Carers,

School Snacks

At St George’s, we strive to be as healthy and active as possible and encourage healthy eating and drinking habits.

During the school day, children are encouraged to drink water and during the morning break, children may have a fruit or vegetable snack only. In KS1, fruit and vegetables are provided via Government funding, and in KS2, children need to bring a snack from home.

Please can we take this opportunity to remind you that these snacks must be fruit or vegetables and children are  not permitted to eat crisps, pastries or other lunch box items during this time. We appreciate your support with this.

Sports Days

A reminder that our Sports Days are planned to take place next week. You are warmly invited to attend. As always at the time of year, please remember to ensure your child brings a sun hat and wears suncream as the event will take place outside.

KS2 Sports Day - Monday 15th June - 1.45pm - 3.15pm

KS1 Sports Day – Thursday 18th June - 1.45pm - 3.15pm

A Message from Mrs Earp – our RE Lead

As we enter the final half-term of the academic year, I would like to share an update on the classes that have been awarded our Gospel Value Stars throughout the year.

We began the year with Reception Class, who won the Forgiveness Star for their forgiving attitude and kindness towards one another.

Year 6 proudly won the Hope Star for the way they have brought hope and positivity to our school community.

Year 4 were awarded the Peace Star following their fantastic assembly and their excellent work in promoting peace through their 'peace pebbles'.

Next week, Year 5 will receive the Service Star in recognition of their year-long commitment to leading child-led prayer every Tuesday and for helping to clean the hall each day throughout the academic year.

There are still opportunities for other classes to demonstrate our Gospel Values before the end of term.

We will share any further Gospel Value Star awards on the school website and in a final end-of-term email.

Thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards,

Claire Earp

A Message from the School Office Team

We would like to remind parents and carers of the importance of notifying the school office if your child is unable to attend school due to illness. Please contact the school office as soon as possible on 01823 284130 or email office@stgeorgestaunton.uk, stating your child's name, class and the reason for their absence.

Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping us maintain accurate attendance records.

Parental Survey – School Meals

We are always keen to listen to the views of our pupils and families. We are therefore inviting parents to complete a short survey about our school meals, provided by Bishop Fox's School. Before completing the survey, we encourage you to spend a few minutes talking to your child about their experiences of school lunches, including what they enjoy, whether they usually find something they would like to eat, and any suggestions they may have for future menu options. The survey should take no more than two minutes to complete and will help us work with our catering provider to celebrate what is working well and identify any areas for improvement. Thank you in advance for taking the time to share your views.  https://forms.office.com/e/Qa81MCnvrf

Summer Fete 2026 – Friday 3rd July

Our Summer Fete will place on Friday 3rd July, after school. We are very grateful to our parent supporters for organising this special event for the children and families of St George’s.

Thank you to those of you who have already volunteered your help.  There is still time to get involved if you would like to. Whether you are able to help set up, run a stall, wrap raffle hampers or volunteer for a short period during the fete itself, all help would be warmly welcomed. Please contact the school office if you would like to support.

Don’t worry if you are unable to support behind the scenes; we greatly value your support in attending the event and celebrating the efforts of the PSG. You are warmly welcomed to join in the fun, and we hope you will invite wider family members to join in, like grandparents, aunts and uncles etc. All are welcome!
