Dear Parents and Carers,
New Governors
We were delighted to welcome our two newest foundation governors, Adria Martin and Simon King, when they visited the school earlier this week. They attended Monday’s Celebration of the Word assembly, confidently led by six of our school Chaplains. Following this, they were treated to a tour of one of class prayer spaces, led by Oliver and Emilly in Year 6. It was wonderful to hear the praise they had for our pupils, with whom they were most impressed.
It is always nice to see our school through the eyes of new visitors, and it serves as a reminder of just how special our school community is. Their visit highlighted the calm, respectful atmosphere within our school and the pride our pupils take in their faith, learning and environment. We look forward to working closely with Adria and Simon as part of our governing body.
New sports kit
Our Year 3 and 4 Girls Football Team attended a football tournament at Taunton College in the new St George’s Dragons kit on Wednesday this week. Many of the girls made their team debut, and Mr Chidgey was highly impressed with their ‘can do’ attitude in trying something new and learning on the job! Playing alongside some of the team’s more experienced players, they won 9 out of 12 of their matches. This is a fantastic achievement and is to be celebrated. Well done, girls. You played well and looked very smart representing your school in the new team kit!

Summer Fete 2026 – Friday 3rd July
We are delighted to announce that our Summer Fete will take place on Friday 3rd July, after school. We are very grateful to our PSG for organising this special event for the children and families of St George’s.
To help make the fete a success, the PSG would greatly appreciate any support from parents and carers. Whether you are able to help set up, run a stall, wrap raffle hampers or volunteer for a short period during the fete itself, all help would be warmly welcomed.
If you are able to support in any way, please refer to the email sent by the School Office earlier this week for contact details.
