Dear Parents and Carers,

Wet Weather Reminder

As the wetter months continue, we kindly ask parents and carers to ensure that children come to school each day with a waterproof, hooded coat and waterproof school shoes. Fresh air and active play are essential for wellbeing and help pupils return to class ready to learn.

Whenever possible, children will go outside during breaktimes—even in light drizzle—in line with our school policy. Having suitable clothing allows them to enjoy this outdoor time comfortably and safely.

Thank you, as always, for your support.

Updated Contact Details

Occasionally, the school office needs to get in touch with parents about their child. It is vital that we have up to date contact information for all families so that we can provide your child with the best care, and we can inform you of any incidents or emergencies. Please can you contact the school office as soon as possible if you have had a change of phone number, email or home address and we will update your child’s records immediately.

School Lunch Boxes – Healthy Eating

As a school, we monitor children’s lunches to ensure that they are healthy and balanced, with enough food to sustain, in order that our pupils have the best fuel for the school day.  To support our families in making positive and informed lunchbox choices, we would like to provide parents with some information on how best to achieve this. According to nutritionists, children who eat a wholesome and well-rounded lunch in school are better able to concentrate and learn.

Good food habits are set early in childhood and can last a lifetime. As lunches provide around one third of our daily nutritional needs, ensuring they are healthy and balanced is a big step in ensuring your child eats well and is ready to learn at school. We kindly ask that lunchboxes contain mainly nutritious items with very limited sweet treats, as these can cause children’s energy levels - and therefore their concentration - to dip.

More information and healthy lunch ideas are provided in the links below. We hope you will find this information useful.

Christmas Dinner Day

Our festive Christmas lunch will take place on Thursday 18th December and we are encouraging the children to wear a Christmas jumper if they have one. This might be a timely reminder for you to check if your child’s Christmas jumper still fits, given that Black Friday is fast approaching and there are lots of special offers around at the moment!

In addition, this year we will host a Christmas jumper swap. Please bring in children’s Christmas jumpers that no longer fit to the school office, and we will provide you with a token. When enough jumpers have been collected in, we will invite token holders to have the first look at the jumpers, and if they find something suitable, they can swap their token for a jumper! We will then sell any remaining jumpers for a small donation to the school.
