13th March 2026

Dear Parents and Carers

Year 5 Class Assembly

Year 5 parents and carers are invited to join us for their child’s class assembly.  This will take place on Wednesday 18th March in the main school hall. Our Year 5 pupils are excited to tell you all about their fantastic trip to Kilve Court last week. We are looking forward to hearing about their adventures!

Chaplaincy Commissioning

We are delighted to invite parents and carers of the members of our Chaplaincy Team to their Commissioning Service on Thursday 19th March. This will be held at St George’s Catholic Church at 2pm and presided over by our parish priest, Fr David.

KS2 SATs

As we move closer to the Year 6 SATs in May, pupils will be revisiting key skills in reading, writing and maths to help strengthen their understanding and confidence. Our focus is on consolidating important learning and ensuring children feel well prepared for the assessments. Regular attendance at school is particularly important during this time, as each lesson builds on the last and gives pupils valuable opportunities to practise the strategies they need. Alongside this preparation, pupils will continue with their wider learning across the curriculum, with teaching focused on the key knowledge and skills that support their overall progress. We continue to ensure that children feel supported and reassured so they can approach the assessments with confidence and a positive mindset.

Amenities/Swimming Contributions

Please can I remind all parents and carers that each year, we ask for a voluntary contribution of

£10 per term per child for swimming, and £10 per term for each family for School Amenities.

The school has always traditionally asked parents and carers for an amenity contribution. The Amenities Fund allows the school to give children extra opportunities and experiences such as visiting artists, performers and sport companies. We feel it is crucial that the children continue to have these WOW moments and with the rising costs of funding school everts and maintaining and running the swimming pool, we would really appreciate your contribution to allow this to continue.

Payments for Swimming and Amenities can be paid online; details are as follows:

Bank Account Number: 02887152 Sort-Code: 30-98-45

Please quote reference S for Swimming and A for Amenities

Spring Has Sprung!

As we move further into the spring term, pupils have been enjoying opportunities to learn and play outdoors as the weather begins to improve. Spending time outside supports children’s wellbeing, physical development and curiosity about the world around them. Classes have been making the most of the outdoor environment, noticing the signs of spring and taking part in activities that complement their learning in the classroom. As spring often brings the occasional shower, children should come to school with a coat and wear suitable footwear in line with the school uniform expectations so they can continue to take part fully in outdoor learning and playtimes.

Stations of the Cross

These will take place in the main school Hall on Wednesday 1st April at 9.30am.

This year, our Year 2 – Year 6 pupils will be enacting the stations at our annual Stations of the Cross service.

We warmly invite parents and carers of these classes to attend.

Our EYFS and Year 1 pupils will be attending the Church to visit the stations and complete a simple procession. We are delighted to invite our EYFS and Year 1 parents and carers to attend this service. We feel it is more interactive and appropriate to the children’s understanding. Please await further information from the class teachers on this invitation.
