Friday 8th October 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am always impressed with the behaviour and respect the children in the school demonstrate. The conversations I have with the children and conversations I hear always include many polite words such as please and thank you. I will ask a child how their day has been and they are quick to ask me how my day has been.

I see many acts of kindness from day to day and it is a joy to see. They are an absolute delight and a credit to the school, their families and themselves.

Have you spotted that this is a paper copy of the newsletter?

As a one off, we are distributing a paper copy of the newsletter to ensure all families are receiving it. Just a reminder that we send a newsletter out every Friday by email. Please do take the time to check your email and read the newsletter as we do try to give as much information as possible. Don’t forget that there is a highlighted letter within the newsletter every week. At the end of every half term, there will be enough letters to make a word. I have highlighted two letters this week. Parents that hand the word to the school office by Thursday 4th November, will be put in the draw for a free club for one week.

Thank you!

It is wonderful to have all the children starting at the same time again! Thank you all for the smooth drop off in the mornings. The children are clearly enjoying Wake and Shake every morning. Thank you to parents that wait with their child/ren for staying just on the side playground (swimming pool playground.)

Have you met Father Tom?

Father Tom was absolutely delighted to receive letters from our Year Six children welcoming him to Taunton. He is planning a Night of Light for primary age children on 31 October from 4-5:30pm in the Parish Centre. Children will be invited to come dressed up as a saint and take part in games, activities and crafts based on the saints, finishing with a procession and short time of prayer.  A flyer will be sent out to all families soon.

When is half term?

Just a reminder we break up for half term on Wednesday 20th October. We return to school on Monday 1st November.

 Breakfast Club

I am sad to advise you that Mrs Tohall, our Breakfast Club Supervisor will be leaving us at the end of October and we would all like to wish her the very best for the future. We will be looking for someone to replace her and wondered if any parents/carers would be interested in taking up this post, the hours would be from 7:35am to 8:50am Monday to Friday. Please contact the office if this is something you would like to discuss.

Will the school photographer be visiting this term?

I am delighted to inform you that we will be having school photographs this year and Tempest Photography will be here in school on Friday 5th November to take individual and sibling photographs.

Have you visited the parking section of our school website?

The school parking system is something that has been developed over the years and it is important that all parents and carers follow. We have a one way system for many reasons, one being health and safety. There have been times over the years where members of the emergency services have needed to get to Nunsfield Court and have been blocked by a car going the wrong way. We cannot afford for this to happen and must do what everyone does and follow our one way system. Please stay in your car and wait until you are safely on the playground. The few cars parking in the church car park must also follow the one way system.

With Best Wishes
